Research project Healthy Aging in Industrial Environment HAIE (registration number: CZ.02.1.01/0.0/0.0/16_019/0000798)
The project addresses the effects of selected environmental and lifestyle risk factors on the health and aging of the population
in an industrial region.

Four VaV centers are involved in the project, which solves four research programs:

The Center for Epidemiological Research is part of the Medical Faculty of the University of Ostrava. It carries out scientific research activities in the field of epidemiology of selected infectious diseases, epidemiology of priority non-infectious diseases and epidemiology of the living and working environment in the form of scientific projects supported by grant agencies in the Czech Republic and abroad.
The Institute of Experimental Medicine of the ASCR, v. V. I. (Hereinafter referred to as the “IEM”) is a recognized center of basic biomedical research in the Czech Republic. It is primarily focused on basic and integrative research in biomedicine. In particular, these are the fields of biochemistry, cell biology and pathology, molecular embryology and others.
The Genetics research group has long been involved in clinical, molecular and comparative cytogenetics in mammals. It develops diagnostic and research approaches for this activity, both at the level of somatic and gametic cells. The Laboratory of Spermatology and Andrology has many years of practical experience in the field of physiology and pathology of reproduction of males not only of farm, hobby and exotic animals, but also of humans.
The main task of the Center for Human Movement Diagnostics (CDLP) is to broaden the boundaries of knowledge in the field of kinanthropology, transfer research results into practical applications beneficial to society and provide a high professional level of research. are included among the main directions of research at the Faculty of Education.
