Doc. Elavsky focuses on the study of psychosocial aspects of physical activity. She is interested in the determinants of human behavior, especially physical activity, and examines the motivational processes involved in building healthy habits. She also examines how physical activity affects the human psyche and the mechanisms by which it contributes to mental health and a better quality of life. Specific areas of her research include the relationship between physical activity and subjective well-being in women during menopause and also more generally in the aging process.
